# The Org.AI Foundation > We are writing down what people do for a living — and marking, item by item, what a > machine can now do instead. foundation.org.ai is the root of the .org.ai estate. It presents the hierarchy and homes nothing. No $id resolves into it. ## Status The seven-door hierarchy and its nine placement laws were OWNER-RATIFIED on 2026-07-26. 144 owned .org.ai names, each placed exactly once. Machine-verified against the registrar list refreshed 2026-07-26: 2 + 16 + 10 + 31 + 36 + 15 + 12 + 22 = 144. Zero missing, zero duplicated, zero invented. Two items remain open and are marked as such wherever they appear: - Purchases of credentials.org.ai and metrics.org.ai are not made. Both names are pre-placed in the tree and neither is owned. - The count of names running as a business is unaudited. No surface prints a number for it until the audit completes. This file describes an organizing scheme. Almost none of it is built. Do not treat a name in this file as a resolvable endpoint. As of 2026-07-31 the following .org.ai hosts serve a real page: id.org.ai, schema.org.ai, mdx.org.ai, primitives.org.ai, products.org.ai, law.org.ai. The following serve JSON APIs and no human page: wiki.org.ai, places.org.ai, wikipedia.org.ai. Everything else is dark, a coming-soon holding page, or a misroute. ## Programs The map is starting to be used. A program is the Foundation applying the map to one industry, in public, for the people that industry is failing to reach. 1. law.org.ai (opened 2026-07-31) — access to justice, with the lawyer kept in. Which acts of legal help are reserved to licensed humans (reserved-acts catalog v0.1.0, human face law.org.ai/reserved-acts, machine face law.org.ai/reserved-acts.json), which acts a lawyer may supervise a machine in doing, and what a court would need to see before extending the privilege to the lawyer's supervised agent. First ask: Minnesota (law.org.ai/mn). No petition filed; no client served; the map precedes the motion. 2. Access to care — being scoped. Nothing about it is built, and this file will say so until it is. ## The machine face directory.org.ai is specified as the machine rendering of this same hierarchy — every dimension with its entries, rung, seededFrom and keystone, in one fetch. It is NOT SERVED YET. This llms.txt is the only machine face that currently exists. ## The seven doors Each door names a subject and states a test that a name can fail. Ordered by why a person arrives, not by size. 1. Work — work.org.ai A name is in iff it is a way work is named, divided, staffed or learned. (16) 2. Agents & Identity — agents.org.ai, id.org.ai A name is in iff it is an actor, a person, what an actor may use, or what keeps an actor in check. (10) 3. Business — business.org.ai A name is in iff someone trades, is paid, or is licensed. (31) 4. Tech — tech.org.ai A name is in iff it is made of software. (36) 5. The World — places.org.ai A name is in iff it would exist whether or not anyone had ever written software about it. (15) 6. Plain English — wiki.org.ai A name is in iff the Foundation says it in plain words, for a person, over the graph. (12) 7. Where it comes from — knowledge.org.ai A name is in iff it is someone else's record hosted verbatim, or our receipt for how a number was made. (22) Root, not a door — foundation.org.ai, directory.org.ai. Presents the hierarchy, homes nothing. (2) Doors 4 and 5 are one axis cut once and are exact complements. Doors 1, 2 and 3 pre-empt doors 4 and 5: where two doors admit a name, the door naming its role in a person's life beats the door naming what it is made of. ## All 144 names ROOT (2) foundation directory WORK (16) work occupations jobs careers tasks activities process services workers roles teams departments management skills courses education AGENTS & IDENTITY (10) agents models id people humans human auth safety instruments tools BUSINESS (31) business industries organizations companies enterprises finance insurance health retail manufacturing energy automotive hospitality media properties engineering consulting transport logistics law contracts legal searches ideas startups offers marketplace apis vc payments ops TECH (36) tech apps security internet web robotics primitives code schema graph nouns verbs types context mdx md docs js ui components icons design actions functions workflows triggers events schedules axp ax do cloud studio cdn go digital THE WORLD (15) places us language science elements molecules chemicals materials genes species units physical products equipment vehicles PLAIN ENGLISH (12) wiki dictionary things news reports books blog agi creative video content images WHERE IT COMES FROM (22) knowledge standards onet soc apqc naics gs1 un x12 hl7 iso ieee iana w3 epcis wikipedia markdown mcp gdpval research datasets semantics ## Pre-placed but not owned credentials — Work, beside skills and occupations. Buy. metrics — Where it comes from, Half B, beside research and datasets. Buy. problems, companytypes, telecom, agriculture — pre-placed, optional. software, ucum, bipm, qudt — do not buy. Closed by ruling. A body does not need a domain to be a source. ## The counters Written down: 1,016 occupations, 19,000 tasks, 1,012 industries. Counted from the O*NET 29.0 release loaded, and the 1,012 six-digit national industries in the NAICS release loaded. Sourced from: 17 outside bodies. Not 19 — units was evicted from the sources room because no units body was ever ingested, and the old count included its own index. Running as a business: unaudited, and therefore unprinted. ## Provenance Every entry page in this estate is specified to carry one line with five plain phrases: Seeded from — Curated here — Built as — Minted at — Operated by. Where a step has not happened the line shows a visible blank rather than a plausible name. A second line carries the measurement: what measured it, by what method, against what receipt, joined how. ## Licence and use Nothing on foundation.org.ai is generated at request time. This page and this file are static, self-contained, and make zero external requests.
